Experience that builds careers
Effective design relies on cross-functional collaboration, but clarity in ownership and feedback channels is essential. When feedback extends beyond the core project team, it can impact alignment with project goals and contribute to longer turnaround times.
Too many chefs
Establishing aligned expectations at the beginning of a project helps reduce rework and ensures smoother workflows. When this alignment is missing, designs may need to be revisited multiple times. Within my four months at Nerdio, I completed three comprehensive redesigns of over 80 case study files, each tailored individually. These necessary revisions created downstream backlog and affected prioritization across other projects.
Try, try again
Effective teams succeed by leveraging the specialized skills of their members and fostering collaboration throughout the creative process. As Nerdio’s marketing team scaled, changes in creative oversight presented opportunities to strengthen alignment and trust. When roles and ownership are not clearly supported, projects can lose cohesion and consistency. Building trust in one another’s areas of expertise is key to producing strong, unified results.
