Atlanta News First was a unique opportunity to do something new and exciting in an industry that most people think of as dying. It wasn’t an ordinary rebrand—it was a new way of thinking how a long-lived industry evolved it’s way back into relevance and necessity.

Looking at the Numbers
Being part of a small team, I regularly saw to the needs of as many as 12 individuals/teams. This would be higher during busy times of the year (elections, the holidays, etc.).
Everyone’s go-to person
With a focus on growing their digital space, a vital contribution to ANF’s brand was increasing their social media presence. Custom graphics are 94% more likely to create engagement, something ANF saw in their numbers.
Social media buzz
News is a very whirlwind industry and in order to balance that “chaos,” I introduced some efficient tactics to save time. My self-made workflow tracking systems and custom-made templates for AE and Photoshop helped to reduce time spent on graphics by 72%.
Efficiency is key
The average daily workload is unpredictable but on a “busy day,” my graphic output could be as many as 50-80 assets in a day (250-400 a week). This includes anything from motion graphics, set designs, sales work, specials, and social/web posts.
Task master
Templates are vital to increasing productivity and efficiency. Rather than having to build each graphic from scratch, detailed templates I designed and formatted helped to reduce repetitive steps. By using my templates, my entire team could do 3x the work in the time it took before.
